PLOT

What would happen if The World was no longer just a game? What if the World....was real? One year after the 3rd network crisis events, CC Corp has attempted to clear its name by creating the third revision of The World. This time, things are on a whole different level.

The World has become its own seperate reality, an almost seperate dimension. No longer do players sit at home and use the computer and controller to play the game. No, The World has become flesh and blood reality! Transporters teleport players into this new reality in which every gamer's dream has come true.

Battles are felt for real, split second choices are made. Blood spills on the battle feild, former PKs have transformed into Serial killers, rogue assassins, the form PKKs take down killers for money to make a living. Monster hunting has become the way of life, people work in the areas of steam science and technology, stores are run, lives are born here. The world, is no longer just a game, it has become reality. But this paradise is not without its dark side.

The eight epitaph still live, seven of them drifting in a null void, their original players having abandoned their PCs when revision two was shut down. Only one, Haseo, the Terror of Death remains. He searches for a way to release Ovan's consciousness from the world after his physical body died a year ago from the Rebirth. Ovan still exists somewhere in the world. Corbenik, his epitaph, having been seperated from him has driven the man insane! With fragmented memories, Ovan has turned, now seeing the world he once loved as his enemy. Creating copies of the eight epitaph, he sends them out into the world to bring about the third coming of the acursed wave.

However, that is not all.

Created by the unnatural connection of the World's dimension and earth, a rift has opened up in the space between the worlds, releasing into The WORLD a terrible danger. A ruthless virus entitled VERSA slinks about, infecting people, transforming them into what can only be described as demons. Slowly the virus consumes the host, taking over their mind, body and soul as it seeks to escape out into earth! The virus grants people unbelievable powers, both in the dimension of THE WORLD, and on earth! Reality is fraying at the seems, Haseo, one of the first to be infected by the virus is the only one known of thus far that has managed to excersize some control over the virus. Now, he must face the facts of what is going on, and stop this virus and Ovan before its too late.

Now, it is your turn, lend a hand to decide the fate of Earth and the The World. Fight to stop the virus, destroy the rogue epitaphs! Or will you become a demon yourself?

Twilight Epitaph is a rpg that requires at LEAST 100 WORDS in all in-character posts!!! If you are under the limit we will ask you to edit your post to meet the standards. You can create your own custom character or you can try out for a canon character! You are allowed a max of ONE CANON Character, and a max of THREE Original Created Characters!
